Paul Smith

Chairman


Mr. Smith is the Chair of the Board of Directors of the Corporation. Mr. Smith currently has a portfolio of non-executive and advisor roles across the energy, infrastructure and utility sectors. In addition to chairing Capstone, he is a non-executive director of Scottish Water, a public utility, a non-executive director of South East London CHP, a waste to energy and district heating business, and also a non-executive director of Orbital Marine Tidal Ltd, a tidal energy development company. He is also Senior Advisor to Icon Infrastructure LLP, an investor in infrastructure businesses in the UK, Europe and North America. Mr. Smith is also a Trustee of the Energy Institute based in London. Prior to this Mr. Smith was Managing Director of Generation at SSE Plc (“SSE”) from 2005 to 2016 where he was responsible for leading SSE’s Power Generation and Gas Storage business in the UK and Ireland.  He was a member of SSE’s management board from 2010 to 2015 and chaired the SSE health and safety committee.

Mr. Smith is a Chartered Chemical Engineer from Edinburgh University with an MBA from Henley Management College. He is a Fellow of both the Institute of Chemical Engineers and the Energy Institute.

Paul Malan

Director


Mr. Malan is Senior Partner of iCON Infrastructure LLP. He has a long track record of successful execution and management of infrastructure investments, including all investments undertaken by the iCON Team. Paul founded the iCON Team in 2004, prior to which he spent 10 years in various roles at Macquarie Bank in London and Australia. Mr. Malan is Chairman of iCON's Investment Committee.

Adèle Malo

Director


Ms. Malo holds a B.A., LL.B. and LL.M. as well as the ICD.D designation and has extensive corporate and governance experience in the energy, foodservice, services and utility sectors. She currently serves on the Board of directors of Ontario's Electrical Safety Authority (ESA), Scientist in School (SiS) and Plugn'Drive. She was previously Executive Vice President of Government & Regulatory Affairs, Real Estate and External Communications and General Counsel for Direct Energy until her retirement in December 2012. Direct Energy is the North American subsidiary of Centrica PLC, delivering energy and services to millions of North American commercial and residential consumers. Prior to that she held senior positions with Ontario Power Generation, Union Gas, Oshawa Group Ltd., and Tim Horton's. Ms. Malo began her career as an associate lawyer in the tax department of Osler, Hoskin & Harcourt.

David Eva

Chief Executive Officer


Mr. Eva joined the Corporation in October 2013 as Vice President, Development, and progressed to Senior Vice President and later to Chief Executive Officer of CPC, the power subsidiary of the Corporation. On January 1, 2017, Mr. Eva was appointed to the position of Chief Executive Officer of the Corporation and became a member of the Board. Prior to joining the Corporation, Mr. Eva was the Vice President, Development at Renewable Energy Developers Inc. (“ReD”), and Project Management Director at Sprott Power Corp. (the predecessor to ReD) from February 2011 until it was acquired by the Corporation in October 2013.

Mr. Eva is a registered professional engineer in the province of Ontario, holds the Chartered Financial Analyst designation, received a Masters of Engineering (M.Eng) in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Waterloo, and a Bachelor of Science (BSc.Hons) in Mechanical Engineering from Queen’s University.

Andrew Kennedy

Chief Financial Officer


Mr. Kennedy brings a wealth of financial expertise and leadership to the Corporation, having dedicated over a decade to its success. Commencing his journey in 2010 as Vice President, Finance, he played a pivotal role until 2016 before seamlessly transitioning into the role of Chief Financial Officer (CFO) of the Corporation's power subsidiary, Capstone Power Corp. (CPC), in April 2016. In April, 2017, Mr. Kennedy assumed the broader responsibility of CFO for the entire Corporation and concurrently earned a seat of the Board. Before his tenure at Capstone's predecessor, he honed his skills and climbed the ranks at Ernst & Young, specializing in public company reporting. 

Mr. Kennedy holds Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) designations from both CPA Ontario and American Institute of CPAs in Illinois. His dedication to financial acumen, combined with a track record of commercial success, position Mr. Kennedy as a key driver of the Corporation's strategy and success.

Donn Hanbidge

Director


Mr. Hanbidge is a professional consultant and holds advisory roles across various industries. He is a Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA, CA) with extensive financial and operational experience in the energy sector and with large complex infrastructure projects. He was Chief Financial Officer of Ontario Power Generation and a renewable energy company focused on developing and operating wind and solar projects in international markets. He also held progressively senior roles at Union Gas Enbridge. Mr. Hanbidge began his career with Ernst & Young after completing an Honours B.A. in Business Administration from the Richard Ivey School of Business, Western University.
